Mitchell's friend of 15 years Angela was killed in a tragic vehicle crash. Mitchell was deeply affected by the loss of her friend and composed the track Angel for Angela on her debut album. On the 7th Heaven Episode Nothing Endures But Change and in Chicken Soup for Preteen Soul she also talked about the experience.
